Social norms have repressed childhood interests into the vessel termed ‘forgotten oddity’. The fast-paced working world of today has coerced us to leave our childhood fantasy and dreams behind, to grow up and adapt to a ‘mature’ reality. Granted, those childhood fantasies may be reflected in our adult interests, whether it’d be hobbies, like art and music to dream careers. Nevertheless, our dreams and fantasies are relics of the oddities and quirkiness of our childhood, forgotten in the turbulent waves of the ever-changing world.

As we were hit by the COVID-19 pandemic which consequently leads to quarantine, we were given time to stop and breathe. The isolation from the outside world and other individuals have forced us to reflect on ourselves that it pushes us to confront the so-called childish oddity of ours. We find ourselves re-discovering our old pastimes such as old films and tv series to pass the time spent in the confinement of our homes. In a way, we are able to not only reminisce upon but to also embrace our disregarded childish side.
