Ethereal Sun

The Ethereal Sun is a two-part poem exploring the amorous Moon’s mythological love for the Sun, celebrating the divinity of astrological lore. An Ode To Solar Majesty recounts the Moon’s yearnings, while Of The Words Unspoken dives deep into his concealed emotions.

Preface
In the presence of a majesty unparalleled, I am helplessly charmed, for the Sun is otherworldly. As countless days elapse, I envision the pair of us together, ecstatic for the years ahead.

O, the days we could spend on Earth if we were men living unexceptional, finite lives. Yet, one worthwhile and coaxed with everflowing beauty. The capacity to laugh, grow, love, and be.

I know. I know that this infatuation of mine is a laughably tragic episode, rousingly bitter. I can only hope that when he gleams luminously for all the celestials, by some miracle I occupy a portion of his mind.

O Virgo, in defiance of the rigid sensibilities you have endowed me with, let me, for once, celebrate the mythos of love for enlivening life’s splendors. And guide me as you always have in the past.

I dedicate this to the Sun.

An Ode to Solar Majesty

My ethereal sun,

No words ever uttered can capture

The layered complexities, intensities, and essence

Of my loving you

A love so saintly,

Untainted from the powers beyond,

Prevailing through the sunshines of my days,

By grace of Eros

A love unfamiliar of bounds,

Trailing across realms and endless reveries,

Through the ever-flowing passage of time,

To the unseen wonders yonder and within,

A love of immeasurable worth,

Like finite men on earth,

O woe to my solemn longing

For an eternal adventure together;

To stare at the glories of the Pacific

Her warm blue, summertime waves

In solitude, from atop mountains carved

With the mythical arts of her peoples

To unearth, in dimly-lit urbana,

The gritty passions of soaked lovers

Once upon a night where the rain reigns supreme

As we bond, in exuberant silence

To immerse, in the majesty of forests galore,

By creeks and freshwater springs,

Stepping on stones thousands in age,

Retracing our steps lost in wanderlust

My ethereal sun,

May our days ahead be whimsical,

Reminiscent of Shakespearean episodes,

Of destined souls wed in holy matrimony

Of The Words Unspoken

My ethereal sun,

Of the words I have composed,

Those left unspoken have ceased the traces

Of serenity in my hollowed heart

I am ever-frozen in solitude, spellbound,

In your presence, eternally infatuated,

Your divine eminence, a warmth

In the dark hollows of our universe,

Yet I know of the inelegant truth that,

Your aurora, which sparks the desolate oceans of space,

Blooms for greater celestials in far-flung galaxies,

Hence my admiration, unrequited

And I long for this chasm of amity,

Which I can no longer bear,

Bleak in hue and spirit,

To be an archaic chapter of a past forgotten,

Alas, I implore Virgo;

Guide me, as our galactic maiden,

To traverse against this endless longingness,

Give rise to my Venus that falls before you,

Cancer, my patron goddess,

Enliven the beauty of my lunar incandescence

Capricorn, my strength and stay,

Project upon me everlasting tenacity

My ethereal sun,

May my impassioned yearnings for you,

And all the delusions entombing me in a realm of mythical perfection,

Be bygones of an age forgone
